Vehicle Preparation
At Harris Automotive, we believe that buying a vehicle should come with complete confidence. Every car we offer for sale goes through an extensive inspection and preparation process before it is ever advertised, ensuring it meets the exceptionally high standards we set for ourselves and our customers.
01 — Sourcing & Inspection
Hand-picked, not auction-sourced
Before we purchase any vehicle, it undergoes a comprehensive pre-purchase inspection covering its mechanical condition, cosmetic condition, and history. Unlike many used car dealerships that source through auctions or trade outlets, we exclusively purchase directly from private individuals — allowing us to hand-pick the very best examples and know exactly where our stock has come from.
Each vehicle is carefully inspected inside and out. Paintwork is checked using our professional paint depth gauge to identify previous repairs or inconsistencies, and interiors are assessed for signs of smoking, pet damage, or excessive wear. With dealer-level diagnostic equipment and access to manufacturer service databases, we verify mileage accuracy, check ECU flash counters and launch control counters, and identify any signs of previous modifications or misuse.
02 — Mechanical Preparation

Once a vehicle arrives with us, it is passed directly to our sister company, H-Sport Performance, for a full mechanical inspection and preparation process. Any maintenance items identified during inspection — or anything likely to require attention in the near future — are rectified as part of our preparation standards. This ensures every vehicle leaves us mechanically prepared to the highest possible standard, rather than simply meeting minimum requirements.
03 — Detailing & Cosmetics
A finish you can see yourself in
Following mechanical preparation, every vehicle enters our dedicated detailing bay. The process begins with a thorough decontamination wash — including the engine bay, wheels, arch liners and door shuts. Where required, paintwork is treated with iron fallout removal and clay bar decontamination before machine polishing using our state-of-the-art Rupes polishing systems. Interiors are deep cleaned and carefully finished, and optional ceramic coating packages are available for added protection.
